nicole reynolds - poems

which makes up whatever

in my night dream
the blue/green/clouded planet
looked like an atom with it's swimming electrons-
stars suns randoms
and much how we view a petri dish of atoms
and molecules
i viewed the solar system
and we were simply a strange growth on our very own atom
(probably an infection,,
although that would only be my guess,,
along with vonnegut's)
the planets and stars bouncing and spinning around
slow
quick
depending who's keeping track
and like atoms,
we served only an atoms purpose
significant only in that
we are members of the composition
which makes up
whatever the composition is making up
which makes up
whatever the composition's composition is making up
which makes up something else
which would most likely be unimaginable
"yeah, but would you rather steal a $1 avocado
or a $3 avocado?" -i'd take both
